Our smartphones keep very important things about us under that adorable chassis they have. They can contain our closest (and distant) contacts, very nice or very private photos, our progress in a game, and even some files that can be fundamental at some point.
All that I mentioned and more, if not for the blessed backup copies, could be lost the moment we renew our phone or suffer a terrible accident. There are multiple ways to save our data, and we are going to tell you several of them that will keep your most precious information safe.
Why Backup Is Important:
Backup copies are necessary because the risk of loss of data from our mobile or our tablet exists: from the deterioration of our device, by use or accident, or from our memory card, to the loss or theft of same. Nor can we disdain that the life cycle of these devices is getting faster and it is not unusual to change the device with the need to transfer our data from one computer to the other. They will be backup copies, in their different modalities, which will allow us to restore the information of our “old” mobile to our new mobile.
Another situation that many users of smartphone or tablet have experienced is the need to return the device to what we call “factory values” either due to a breakdown or a software problem in updates, or due to poorly designed applications, or even due to forgetting of passwords and passwords, this return to the initial values of the device deletes our data making it essential to have backup copies. As we can see, risk situations exist and will only be remedied if we have a backup copy.
With the google account, you can make backup of your content, data , contacts, and settings from your android device. You can also restore all backup information from your original Android device to another Android device

Different Options on How To Backup Your Data:
Your Google account, the default method:
Many do not fall into the account, probably because, by default, it is configured to make backups automatically, but our Google account is responsible for much of our data is safe. These data can be from contacts to the applications that we have installed or the configuration of our device.
For our Google account to make automatic backups, we simply have to activate the appropriate option. In the settings, go to ‘Backup and restore’ and make sure that in ‘Copy my data’ a ‘Yes’ appears. The data will be saved in the account you have set.
Use the cloud to keep your data safe:
A fairly safe way to keep our data safe is the service in the cloud, where we can create an account (or more than one if the free space falls short) and start uploading things as if they paid for it. Perhaps the preferred among Android users is Google Drive for its integration with the operating system.
This service allows us to upload almost anything, be it the typical photos and videos, our contacts or any other file, such as a PDF, for example, or a ZIP file. While we have storage space in Google Drive, we can upload almost what we want and download it to another device.
Another well-known service is OneDrive, the Microsoft cloud, in which you can, as in Google Drive, save your photos, videos, and almost all types of files. The only thing that does not leave you is to copy your contacts (they reserve it for Windows Phone), but it’s not something you’re going to need either.
There are more services in the cloud, such as Dropbox or Mega. All of them will save you that important data that you keep on your device. The only requirement is to have an internet connection to upload and download the files you want.
It is also worth mentioning that you can activate, if you wish, the uploads from the camera in any of the services in the cloud automatically. This will avoid having to spend time uploading them by hand and checking if you have uploaded them repeatedly. In the settings of any of the applications you can activate this option if you did not already have it.
Speaking of photos, the Google Photos application allows us to save all our images and videos without storage limit so we can rescue them whenever we want. Yes, the quality of the photos is limited to 16 megapixels and the videos to FullHD.
For those who prefer the computer before the cloud:
Not everything has to be stored on our phone or in the cloud, we can also go to our computer, which will have more free storage than our smartphone (almost certainly). The most common option is to connect the mobile to the PC via USB cable and transferring the files you want yourself.
But if you do not want to or cannot connect the phone to your computer, you can use some application, such as Air Droid, which will allow you, among other things, to pass the files remotely from your smartphone to your PC. You only have to download the app from Google Play for the mobile and the desktop version for your PC from its website.
Once you have installed the application on both devices, you just have to connect on both devices with your account and start enjoying all the options. You can go from the typical photos or videos to applications in the form of an apk file. Air Droid has many more options, but some depend on the web version.
There are more options, such as CrashPlan, but in this case, in order to use the mobile application, you need a payment account. To try it you can access a free account for 30 days to decide if it’s worth it or not pay a money to have all the functions offered by the application.
